What can SE-GA do for my company?
Quite simply put, SE-GA Workplace Consulting can save your company money!!
SE-GA specializes in Workers' Compensation claims management, obtaining cost relief in all provincial jurisdictions, workplace safety, reclassifications and financial forecasting to list a few.
Together, SE-GA works with employers to realize the maximum rebate/merit potential available to them, thus minimizing their compensation cost.
Is there anything that can be done about past claims outside the current experience rating window?
SE-GA’s staff have enjoyed significant success in recovering savings for our clients on issues over twenty years old. Further more, they have established jurisprudience on a number of issues that have generated significant refunds for their clients.
Regardless, if the claim is still under review by the provincial Workers' Compensation Board, there are a number of avenues that can help reduce claim costs. For example, the claim may be eligible for cost relief, third party transfer, amalgamation, and other cost reduction policies.
What is ESRTW and are there any benefits of having an ESRTW Program?
ESRTW stands for Early and Safe Return To Work, meaning exactly what the name suggests...the early and safe return of an injured employee to modified duties.
There are a number of benefits to implementing an ESRTW Program, the most obvious of which is a reduction in claim costs. By quickly returning an employee to modified duties, an employer can greatly reduce the amount of benefits paid to that employee, and thus, the amount of compensation costs charged to the employers experience rating position.
What is Cost Recovery and will it affect my relationship with the WCB?
Cost recovery is a process that allows SE-GA to review our client’s WCB claim and cost history. The objective is to discover overpayments, errors, penalties, service charges, reclassifications, assessments changes and cost relief savings for the financial benefit of our clients, and have them returned to our client. This process is tranparent and professional to ensure that all relavent stake holders are apprised throughout the engagement. The majority the information we require to perform our review is retrieved directly from the applicable Workers' Compensation boards.
We’ve been through this process with another consultant, why should we do it again?
Even though many SE-GA clients have been through this process before, our success rate remains high. This is true whether the previous results were marginal or very successful. Our diverse group of professionals are skilled in many different facets of Workers’ Compensation. Quite often we can improve upon results of other consultants, discover new issues that were previously overlooked or have decisions reversed based on new information brought forward. Please note we do not wish to waste your time, the WCB or ours on issues that have no financial implication.
We’re currently working with another consultant or on our own issues in house?
SE-GA will not interfere with any issue which the employer or their current consultant may be working on. The WCB will only respond to whoever provides the most current authorization. All we ask is that we have an opportunity to review the issues once the initial review is complete. We are still able to perform our services within the areas that have been overlooked or are no longer part of your process.
Shouldn’t we have done this ourselves?
Often, the information needed for SE-GA to obtain results can be quite lengthy and requires many different facets of our expertise. (clinical, legal, accounting and appeals) For an employer to maintain a staff of this magnitude in many cases does not justify the costs. In most cases, our discoveries determine that the in-house person has fulfilled their requirements but the WCB has overlooked or not considered additional pertinent information otherwise unavailable to the employer.
Will this disturb our staff and take up our time?
While the bulk of the information required by SE-GA is received directly from the WCB, the client on occasion will be asked to provide specific information on the issues such as the nature of the claim or readily available documentation. In most cases we will come to your offices and limit your involvement to as little as possible. In the meantime, you will always be kept informed of all issues as we move forward in the process.
Are there any upfront costs? How does SEGA generate their fees?
Our cost recovery service is provided on a contingency basis. SE-GA is only paid if we generate savings on your behalf. We are remunerated after the client receives a cheque or credit from the WCB / WSIB. All costs to perform our services are absorbed by SE-GA, if we are unable to obtain any savings, there is no charge for our efforts.
